Event: Advanced Options: Blocks: Add or Edit a Room Type

Use this page to add or edit a room type.

To add a room type:

  1. If the event uses multiple hotels, make sure you have the correct hotel. The hotel name is displayed on the left side of the page under the Select room drop-down list.

  2. Optionally, copy the settings of an existing room type by selecting it in the Select room drop-down list. You can then modify the settings to create the new room type.

  3. Check the This is an upsell room box if this is an upsell room. In the pop-up window, enter the upsell premium. The upsell premium is the difference between the upgrade's room rate and the negotiated contracted rate for the standard room type. This rate appears as a link underneath the checkbox, where you can click the link to edit the rate if necessary. If dynamic upsell is used for an event, this box is not shown.

  4. In Room Type Information, enter a name for the room type and provide a description. Both are required.

  5. Optionally, check the Display smoking preferences field to display this field on the Attendee Website.

  6. Optionally, upload an image of the room.

  7. In the Original Contract section, enter the inventory for this room type under each date. The original contract inventory dates are shown by default. If the date range is long, use the two drop-down lists and the Apply button to select a shorter date range for easy viewing. To restore the full range, click the View All Dates button.

  8. In the Rate Information section, enter the contract rate.

  9. Enter the minimum night stay

  10. Enter the maximum number of guests per room

  11. Enter any additional guest fees.

  12. Optionally, enter any information or instructions for the Call Center concerning this room type in the Notes for Call Center.

  13. Optionally, enter information or notes to yourself or anyone else managing this event in the Notepad section.

  14. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to implement your changes.

To edit a room type, follow the same procedure to modify the existing settings.
